Doctoral Training Programme

The seizmic doctoral network offers a comprehensive research training programme designed to support 15 doctoral candidates within a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment. The programme brings together leading institutions across Europe to foster cutting-edge research and innovation in scaling social entrepreneurship.

Three key institutions—Copenhagen Business School (CBS), the University of Iceland (UIce), and the University of Naples Federico II (UNINA)—lead the delivery of core training courses. Supervisors from the remaining six academic partners, alongside guest speakers from non-academic partners, enrich the programme with diverse perspectives and real-world insights.

The seizmic training programme blends scientific expertise with management and entrepreneurial skills, offering a unique opportunity for doctoral candidates to engage with both academic theories and practical applications. The training is structured around a range of interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral activities designed to foster collaboration, innovation, and leadership.

Training Objectives

The seizmic training programme is built around six core objectives, each designed to prepare researchers for leadership roles in academia, industry, and the social enterprise sector:

Cultivating Impact Competence

Enhancing Entrepreneurship Competence

Strengthening Engagement Competence

The seizmic APP is a digital platform guiding learners through the social business model development process. Constantly evolving with user's feedback, the app is easy to integrate into university courses.

The annual seizmic AWARDS aim to create additional motivation and recognition to learners and users of the seizmic APP. The awards are open to all projects built on the seizmic APP. Sponsored by conscious businesses across Europe, we aim to create a chain of seizmic AWARDS in different countries, starting with Denmark.

The seizmic SURVEY is a practical evaluation tool. It was developed to assess how study programs or courses contribute to equipping students with the skills and mindsets addressing societal challenges through entrepreneurship and innovation. Translated to multiple languages, it shows students range of the skills and comptecencies they can acquire throughout the course, and collects data on perceived acquisition of these skills.
