Lara Johannsdottir

Lara Johannsdottir, MBA, PhD is a professor and academic director of environment and natural resources at the University of Iceland (UIce) and a Fulbright Arctic Initiative Scholar (2018-2019). She sits within the Faculty of Business Administration, University of Iceland (UIce). Her research focus is the business sector and sustainability, such as corporate social responsibility, corporate sustainability, sustainable business models, responsible investments, sustainability reporting, systemic risk, and Arctic business affairs.  

Her papers have been published by the Journal of Cleaner Production, Environmental Science and Policy, Ecological Indicators, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Polar Record, Local Economy, Ocean & Coastal Management, Sustainability, and many others. Books and book chapters have been published by Routledge, Wiley & sons, Palgrave Macmillan, and Springer.  

She has graduated 2 PhD students (and one forthcoming in 2025), and 60 Masters students.  

Dr. Lara Johannsdottir has 14 years of working experience from the Icelandic insurance sector and was a board member of LSBÍ, an Icelandic occupational pension fund, for 8 years.
