Michail Pikis
I am a creativity researcher and software engineer with a passion for understanding and enhancing human creativity through interactions with Generative AI technologies. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Multimedia Technology and Design, including a year in industry, and a Master of Science in Software Engineering from the University of Amsterdam, where my thesis focused on "Understanding and Enhancing the Creative Performance of Software Engineers." In 2024, I worked as a freelance research assistant with Professor Derek Lomas (TU Delft), exploring the intersection of Generative AI and creativity.
I also collaborated with researcher Katrina Heijne to develop a GPT-powered tool and workshop, based on our proposed prompting strategy, "prompt reversal." My professional experience includes roles as a teaching assistant at UvA and software engineering positions at Centric Software (Amsterdam) and ABB (Athens). Beyond software and research, I have been involved in creative work, contributing to film production at Nomadic Films (London) and recently performing in a dance theatre production.
