David Melubo Kisotu
David Melubo Kisotu is a distinguished researcher, a social entrepreneur and finance expert dedicated to driving sustainable development through financial inclusion, social entrepreneurship, and conservation. A proud alumnus of the prestigious Starehe Boys' Centre in Nairobi, David pursued a Bachelor of Science in Strategic Management at Moi University before launching his career in the banking sector with Equity Bank Group (2013–2016).
In 2016, he transitioned to public service, joining the Narok County Government, where he played a pivotal role in financial strategy and development initiatives until 2022. His expertise in digital banking and financial inclusion became particularly instrumental when he joined the World Bank-funded National Agricultural Value Chain Development Program (NAVCDP), focusing on empowering agripreneurs in marginalized Kenyan communities. His MBA thesis at Kenyatta University, which explored digital banking and the financial inclusion of women in Narok County, was highly applicable to this mission.
In 2024, David expanded his global footprint by pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in International Gender Equality Studies at the University of Iceland. There, he deepened his research on gender inclusion and conservation in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya, bringing an international perspective to local conservation challenges.
David’s career embodies a unique intersection of social entrepreneurship, finance, sustainability, and social impact, making him a thought leader in fostering inclusive economic growth and environmental conservation in marginalized communities.
